Heather’s 1 of 1 Studio Edit is a weekly release of singular, one-of-a-kind faux arrangements, each designed and made just once in our studio. This series allows Heather the freedom to express herself creatively, designing artistic, sculptural pieces guided by intuition, material, and moment — without repetition or constraint. Each arrangement is created for 'one space only'. When it’s gone, it’s gone.
Inspiration
This week I had the pleasure of meeting the gorgeous sisters, Bianca and Lauren from Bianca Lorenne. They welcomed us into their world of luxurious linens and beautifully layered bedding. Wow, what an amazing combination of texture, tone, and craftsmanship! The richness of their colour palettes and the way fabrics were thoughtfully composed became the starting point for this week’s arrangement. Watching how another creative approaches their craft, how depth is built, how softness balances structure, how restraint can feel indulgent — was truly inspiring. While browsing the Bianca Lorenne catalogue, I discovered an artwork that completely captured my imagination: dramatic, detailed, and slightly theatrical. From that moment, the design began to unfold. The depth of colour and delicate details within the piece became the foundation of the arrangement. A study in translating textile into botanical form.
Design Intent
This arrangement honours the portrait through a botanical lens, translating drama, intricacy, and refinement into natural materials. Each element echoes a detail in the artwork, balancing richness with restraint and structure with softness. The final composition is immersive and expressive, capturing opulence while remaining grounded in nature.
The Details
The rich blacks and deep browns of the fox’s embroidered jacket inspired the grounding structure of magnolia foliage. Glossy green and caramel-toned leaves echo the opulence of heavy fabric, layered and luxurious. Gold embroidery became an exploration of texture. Fine fern fronds and intricate seed heads mimic ornate stitching, subtle from afar, but revealing complexity up close. Cascading yellow kōwhai flowers weave through the arrangement, introducing movement and a soft luminosity that lifts the deeper tones. The overall palette, warm golds, deep forest greens, touches of caramel and bronze is dramatic and rich without feeling heavy.
Where It Works Best
Designed to be front-facing, this arrangement is best positioned against a wall or screen to showcase its structure and layers. Ideal for entryways, intimate dining rooms, gallery spaces, or interiors where texture and tone can shine.
