Heather’s 1 of 1 Studio Edit is a weekly release of singular, one-of-a-kind faux arrangements, each designed and made just once in our studio. This series allows Heather the freedom to express herself creatively, designing artistic, sculptural pieces guided by intuition, material, and moment — without repetition or constraint. Each arrangement is created for 'one space only'. When it’s gone, it’s gone.
Inspiration
This arrangement draws inspiration from the quiet beauty of winter landscapes, where soft, muted tones and natural textures create a feeling of warmth and calm. Creamy magnolia blooms sit amongst rich green foliage, weathered browns and earthy tones, while winter-budding branches and autumnal maple evoke the feeling of a woodland landscape brought indoors.
Design Intent
The intention was to create a sculptural botanical composition that feels abundant yet beautifully restrained. Rather than relying on strong colour, the design allows form, texture and tonal variation to create its impact. Full magnolia blooms provide softness and scale, while realistic foliage and branching forms add depth, movement and an architectural silhouette.
The Details
Presented in a beautifully tactile terracotta jug with a natural glazed finish, the arrangement has a warm, artisanal quality. Full cream magnolia and late season hydrangea blooms are layered amongst incredibly realistic green foliage and sculptural winter-budding tree tulip branches. Autumnal maple foliage introduces subtle brown and earthy tones, creating depth and a wonderfully organic, almost gathered-from-the-garden character.
Where It Works Best
With its generous scale, sculptural form and understated palette, this arrangement works beautifully in interiors that embrace natural materials and texture. It makes a striking statement in an entrance, living space, dining area or hospitality setting, particularly alongside timber, stone, linen, aged metals and earthy ceramics.
